EXPERIENCE                : 19 years in the Paper Industry in production in paper machine department on Fourdrinier /Twin Wire machines with different configurations with open and pressurized head boxes. Experience in fine paper and corrugating medium.

 

2003 – Going to Join as Project co-ordinator for the new machine being built in Luxmi Tulasi Paper Mills in Andhra Pradesh,India in December.

Leaving South Africa third week of November for  erection/commissioning the new machine in India.Approximate project work is 6 months from December 2003.

 

2001-2003 – Worked as Production Superintendent/Acting Production Manager in Unicell Paper Mills ltd,Germiston,South Afrcia.Successfully commissioned the Twin Wire machine which is now operating at 80 percent of its full capacity.

Involvement in modification of water treatment, approach flow modifications,head box modifications,condensate system trouble shooting and vaccum system trouble shooting during the commissioning of the machine.

Active involvement in commissioning of  twin wire machine with DCS controls for machine as well as STOCK PREPARATION. Suggested many a modification in the wet end regarding the MODULE JET OPERATION and ROPE CARRIER SYSTEMS.

Co-ordinated all of Chemical programs in the mill in the areas of sizing,ph control,retentions and water treatment with Buckman and Hercules.

                              

1997-2001--paper maker on 75 tpd size press machine and 75 tpd combined machine both

producing Kraft fluting and liner with recycled fiber, in shifts in Swazi Paper Mills,Swaziland in Sharma

 Group of companies.

Contribution in the up gradation of combined machine in speeding up of machine from 140 to 190mpm

with an increase of 30% production with an additional Venta nip press and 9 dryer cylinders. Machine

was stabilized at 180 mpm. PALMAC centri-cleaner system was also installed.

Contribution in the installation of New headbox , vaccum system on the combined machine with an increase in the trim width of 100 mm at pope reel. Machine stabilized at 185 mpm.

 

1990-1997--Promoted as Senior Process in charge on  75 tpd MF m/c and 75 tpd MG m/c producing

SS Maplitho, Laid, Color boards, Copier, Fax and Maplitho Super varieties in the product mix of 1:5

in Kraft varieties for different applications in India in The Andhra Pradesh Paper Mills

Ltd,Rajahmundry,India.

 

Member of 3 member task team and successfully speeded up the MF machine from 220 to250 mpm

without additional capital expenditure.                          

Active involvement in the commissioning of MF machine after rebuild and stabilizing the machine at 375

mpm. Rebuild involved New Head box, wire part, Bi-nip press with addition of 3 dryer cylinders with PLC

system for the pope reel.

Participated in the technical discussions at OVERMECCANICA, VERONA, ITALY in connection with

 rebuild of MF machine.

Coordinator in the commissioning of ABB & Measurex systems on MF and MG machines for

BW, MOISTURE, ASH AND CALIPER control.

 

1989-1990--Worked as a Process in charge on 120tpd machine (500 mpm) with Tri nip press and Size

Press. Involved in commissioning of CSP and Size Press. Writing and Printing and Base Coating varieties

produced on this machine.

 

1985-1989--Worked as GET and promoted as Process in charge on 10tpd Yankee m/c and 30tpd

combined machines producing White Posters, Color Tissue for kites and Envelope varieties. The product mix 1:3.

                               

1984-1985--worked as GET in Stock Preparation in batch and continuous preparations.

 

From 1984 to 1997 served in THE ANDHRA PRADESH PAPER MILLS LTD.,RAJAHMUNDRY,INDIA.

 

ACHIEVEMENTS         :

*Modification of cascade system which brought down the steam consumption from 2.6 to 2.3 t/t of paper on MF machine.

*Modification of pope reel wrap and calender loads thereby reducing the losses in the reel conversion

due to winding problems.

*Modification of rope carrier system which brought down the tail threading time.Designed a new system

for Carrier ropes on Twin Wire machine in Unicell,South Arrica which has cut tail feeding time from 25

minutes to 8 minutes.

*Implementation of changes in the grade change procedures increased the available hours of machine.

*Successfully commissioned in coordination with ABB,COLUMBUS the CD Thermoprofiler for caliper

control on MF machine.

*Responsible throughout the career for the Executive Reports, Budget proposals, Downtime Analysis,

Shut down Job coordination and Data Generation.

*Successfully commissioned a high-speed rewinder at 1200 mpm with tension control.

*Involvement in Chemical programs and modifications / adjustments to cut down the cost.With the help of

Buckman laboratories personnel the cost per ton was cut down.Also the productivity is increased due to

optimisation of chemical usage.
